 Our History

When Mariam Gamiet opened Sunnyside Nursing Home with her husband Arshad in 1984, she had already spent over 20 years in nursing having gone in to the profession straight after leaving school.  She had qualified as a general nurse, mental nurse and midwife which gave her experience of caring for a wide range of people of different ages and backgrounds and in different environments.

Before opening Sunnyside, Mariam had spent many years caring for the elderly in both care homes and in the NHS.  Realising that there was a need for high quality nursing care for the elderly she and Arshad opened Sunnyside Nursing Home in the village of Iver, Buckinghamshire.

We have grown since then, opening our second care home, Langley Nursing Home in 1991 and Sunnyside itself has been redeveloped extensively.  However, the culture of our care homes still reflect Mariam's philosophy: caring for others as we would like to be cared for ourselves and a commitment to the highest standards of hands on care.

New Development

We are currently looking for opportunities to acquire development sites for new care facilities as well as existing care homes that are fully compliant or could be made fully compliant with a minimum of 40 beds.
